We have recently purchased a Meiji MT series light microscope with an image capture facility and analytical software from Mazurek Optical Services. The equipment is principally for diatom analysis requiring at least x1000 magnification for identification purposes.

I would like to highlight the excellent optical capability of the equipment which at x1000 magnification and above provides remarkable image quality, particularly when using the phase-contrast facility. The quality of the optics supplied certainly challenges the larger brand-names which come in at a starting price well beyond the costing for this system. The image capture facility and associated software is also extremely user-friendly and provides a wide range of image manipulation and measurement capability. 

Coupled with the excellent post-purchase support from Mazurek Optical Services I would recommend a system such as this to anyone wishing to purchase a high-quality affordable light microscope for research purposes.
